Until now the Alanda Group, part of Mc Inerneys PLC has specialised in the construction of exclusive luxury homes mainly aimed at the wealthy European market on the Costa del Sol Spain.

The recent economic crisis in the European Real Estate and Construction sector has compelled the Alanda Group to take the decision of redirecting some of its resources, applying both the credibility and knowledge which has been acquired over the years to bring forth a new business division called Alanda Engineering Services.

Manuel Mena, Technical Director of the Alanda Group will be heading up this new division, applying years hands on project experience in developing countries.
Alanda Engineering Services has been created to develop innovative projects within the construction process such as logistics, these innovations will be applicable to the construction of economically viable houses in locations where the available manual labour does not have the necessary technical skills to allow them to develop such projects.

The first project in the pipeline is being developed in collaboration with AERTEC, an engineering and architecture company (www.aertec.es), located in, Malaga PTA, and  the company MAKIBER (Grupo ACS), specialising in international logistical equipment, services and key ready projects for developing countries (www.makiber.es).

The Project “Affordable Homes” is a response to the increasing necessity for financially viable, dignified housing with local maintenance in Africa.

Intended for the Angolan Market, this project is applicable to other countries with similar growth potentials and investment possibilities, but, which lack a qualified work force. These conditions have been generated by certain factors due to rural exodus, population increase and greater political stability; all these factors have contributed to the creation of new government policies for the development of competitively priced houses with corresponding qualities, built within a certain time frame, using Western technology and procedures, but sustainable in means, materials and local manual labour.

Studies of countries where the houses are to be built will look at various circumstances and specific problems such as terrain, climate, the availability of materials, logistic capabilities, etc, we have brought with us the application of new concepts, products and construction practices which will increase productivity, practicality, keep costs economical, during both construction and use of the properties. During the time of each projects development a locally based team will be formed.
Our project ‘Affordable Homes’ is orientated at generating business results yet with a strong social commitment.
