Three successful deals have got the year off to a good start for Savills Commercial Agency team in Oxford.
Lingfield Securities has recently completed the purchase of T1 200 Milton Park, a 90,000 sq ft storage and distribution facility. Andrew Parker of Savills, who let the building originally and subsequently advised Lingfield on the purchase, said: “We are delighted to finally see this deal done. It’s a great strategic purchase for Lingfield, with some good income and, undoubtedly, some development potential in the future.”
Savills concluded a number of lettings during 2008 at Ashtenne’s recently refurbished development in Eyston Way, Abingdon. They included Linde and Scania, who took over 35,000 sq ft between them, and the first unit in the trade element of the development has now been let to AFG Kitchens, who are currently fitting out the 6,000 sq ft unit with a view to opening in the spring.
Andrew Parker comments: “This is a great letting to a quality company and we expect it to stimulate interest from complementary businesses in the adjacent units.”
The third Savills deal is in Oxford city centre, where the former Bar Med, on the corner of Penny Farthing Lane and St Ebbes, has been let to Oxford Leisure. The 9,000 sq ft ground floor and basement premises are now being fitted out and Andrew Parker says: “This is a flagship building which has been closed for far too long. I for one am certainly looking forward to dropping in for lunch or a drink in due course!”
